The AIMIA Digital Services Index™ (DSI) launch is VERY close and I have had a chance to get some agreement from my co-sponsors to release a couple of headline statistics ahead of the launch next week. Having spoken to a number of journalists, bloggers and others, we are just getting so excited about the report and the findings that we decided to let a little bit of the data “sneak out.”
So … what can I tell you? Well, the fist thing is that the research has found that across corporations and government, it is expected that almost 40% of customer interactions will be driven by digital services in 2009.…. and that is HUGE. It means that for some businesses, more of their customers will now contact them via their digital channels than perhaps some of their other channels (like call centres perhaps and for some industries, and maybe even more than retail channels).
The second little tidbit we have been able to shares is that 25% of corporate revenue will be either delivered or directly influenced by Digital Services in 2009 – and this is up 17% this year alone. This is exciting and for me is a portent of things to come. Over time, digital services will be behind more and more of the business we do every day – either informing, engaging and influencing our decisions or making it possible for us to do business there and then.
There is more great stuff in this report – so please register to get your copy!
PS> Thanks to to Jye Smith for his great coverage of the uncoming launch.
